Shooting Pendulum at The Piece Hall

Halifax, 14 June 2025

There are some venues that just hit different, and The Piece Hall in Halifax is 100% one of them. It’s one of those places where you walk in and instantly feel like whatever you’re about to create is going to look unreal. And shooting Pendulum and Normandie there on June 14th was exactly that, a whole cinematic moment.

Normandie Warming Things Up

Normandie hit the stage first and instantly switched the energy on. These guys always bring that punchy, emotional intensity, and it just works on camera.

Getting to capture their set in such an open space was sick, wide shots looked massive, but you could still get those tight emotional moments because the stage wasn’t miles away. Their lighting setup was clean too, so nothing fought the natural ambience of the hall.

Pendulum: Full Send

Then Pendulum came out and pretty much blew the roof off a venue that doesn’t have one.

Massive lasers, strobes slicing through the night, that signature Pendulum drop that makes everyone forget where their feet are. It’s the perfect kind of chaos to shoot, controlled enough that you can anticipate big moments, wild enough that every frame feels live and explosive.

One thing about Pendulum crowds: they do not hold back. From the first track, Napalm, it felt like the entire courtyard turned into one giant, chaotic, wave.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, this one felt special. The Piece Hall is already a standout location, but pairing it with two bands who know exactly how to take a crowd from 0 to 100 just made it next-level. Shooting nights like this are the reason I love what I do, you’re not just capturing a show, you’re bottling a moment that people are going to remember for years.
